James Beard Dinner  |  January 30, 2010 (New York, NY) ::  Join Sam and members of the Blackberry Farm team for the Relais & Chateaux Series 'Farm in the City' dinner at the historic James Beard house in New York. This special evening of farm-fresh food and wine will begin with a reception at 7:00pm, followed by a dinner with seated tasting menu at 8:00pm. Martha Stewart TV appearance  |  filmed October 23 (New York, NY) ::  It was a good thing! As part of the book launch, Martha Stewart invited Sam to share recipes and cooking techniques from The Blackberry Farm Cookbook. The show taped in front of a live studio audience in New York on October 23 and is now airing across America. Broadcast schedules for show are available through Martha’s website: marthastewart.com.

Meet the Author Sam Beall and Photographers Heather Anne Thomas and Kreis Beall of the The Blackberry Farm Cookbook, as well as famed artist Andrew Saftel and preview his showing of the his newest Garden Collection. Blackberry Farm Chefs and Artisans will also be on hand to share various flavors of the farm.

Learn how art comes to life with a lecture by Photographer Heather Anne Thomas and Preservationist Maggie Davidson. Spend an hour learning the secrets behind photographing the Blackberry Farm Cookbook, then hear from another powerful woman about the secrets of canning and preserving.

Learn the behind-the-scenes secrets with a lecture by Artist Andy Saftel and Blackberry Farm Gardner Jeff Ross. Spend an hour learning the inspiration and direction from Andy Saftel regarding his Garden Collection, then hear another artist who finds his inspiration in the earth Blackberry Farm Gardener Jeff Ross as he shares the Blackberry philosophy on sustainable agriculture, seed saving and responsible gardening.

Taste and learn during lectures and sampling with Blackberry Farm's Cheesemaker Adam Spannus and Butcher Michael Sullivan. Spend an hour learning the delicate process of making world class cheese as well as creating some of the countries tastiest salami and preserved meats.  Watch and taste how the two come together in the ultimate mid day snack!

 

Book Signing  |  SFA Symposium (Oxford, MS) :: Sam Beall will be signing freshly printed copies of The Blackberry Farm Cookbook on Friday, Oct 30 at 6pm during the annual Symposium of the Southern Foodways Alliance. We’re thrilled to be part of this Oxford tradition, and are bringing plenty of southern-inspired hors d’oeuvres and libations.
